Both version 1.3 and 1.4 of ABxLDAP do not work on Tiger (10.4) and Leopard (10.5). We are currently testing a new release which will address this issue. The new release should be available in the next couple of days.

ABxLDAP 1.5 (ABxLDAP_v1.5_15th_Nov_2009.dmg) should address the problems with previous releases (1.3 and 1.4) on Tiger and Leopard.

I've tried to get the November version installed on both an iMac and a MacBook without success. Both computers run MacOS 10.5 (Leopard). When I try to run the tool in the system preference panel the program just says that the preference "ABxLDAP" cannot be run. When I try to start AddressBook4LDAP the system says that the program was unexpectedly terminated.

Any ideas anybody?

Please remove your current installation (right click -> remove) and re-install the client. Then insure you restart System Preferences and try again. Please include your console messages if this does not resolve the issue.

I've removed and reinstalled the item without success. Probably stupid question - how do I get a console message to post it here? Many thanks!

The console can be accessed via /Applications/Utilities/Console.app. After opening the console, clear the messages and then startup System Preferences / ABxLDAP. This should present a useful error message on the Console.

This problem seems to only occur on Intel Macs running 10.4 and 10.5. On PPC Macs it seems to be working. If you have a Intel Mac running 10.4 / 5 could you please report if it's working for you, so we can rule out this issue as an isolated case.

Before installing this release please remove the System Preference application by right-click -> remove
