Are there any error messages being reported on the Console when you try to access the client ?

Did you have to install a new client component for MobileMe beta ?

No, there are no error messages displayed. The only thing I get is the empty list of calendars. If I try with a local calendar it will be displayed in the calendar list. With Address groups all is perfect also. Just the missing MobileMe calendars...

I think I had nothing special to install on the client side. But initially the MobileMe calendars got converted to something new...

I haven't tried using MobileMe calendars yet, but it seems that they only exist in the MobileMe cloud, and iCal accesses them directly. Maybe ask on the Apple forum if anybody else had similar problems. For Address Book Server to pick up the calendar is has to be accessible to sync services. So this issue will affect other applications which rely on sync services. For example all phones and devices which do not have support for MobileMe.

Hm, I don't agree with your assumption, that MobileMe calendars are only smewhere in the cloud.. They have to be stored localy, otherwise I couldn't access them without Internet available...

Could it be, that Apple converted the calendars on their servers for this new release? I beleive I read somewhen something about getting more compatimble with the iCal Standard. After synching this new format to my Mac this new formatted calendars are unkown for ABS client. Could this be the reason?

If this scenario is real, you have to assume that Apple will sooner or later also change the calendar format for local calendars...

You misunderstood. Of course iCal will keep a copy of them locally for offline use. However those local cached copies are different to local calendars. Just like calendars to which you subscribe to like holiday etc are not listed either.

Ok, I understand. interesting enough that IT worked until MobileMe beta

May be there is another solution for my needs: My wife and I want to synch some common calendars. Till Today MobileMe was not able to cover this requirement. Here ABS came into the game. Unfortunately there is no synch between the native iCal on my iPhone and the ABS. This is the reason why I have to orchestrate the whole bunch of software. Do you see another solution for my requirements?

You should be able to sync your local iCal calendars with your iPhone using iTunes or MobileMe. Just not the Beta version. So you could use iTunes to sync your mobile and ABS to sync with your wife.

Maybe to make things easier we could do an iChat meeting to discuss this further.
